The Ayung River rafting route runs for approximately 10 kilometres through a spectacular gorge below Ubud. The river is classified Grade II–III, meaning it's fast and exhilarating without being genuinely dangerous — ideal for beginners and families with children over 10. The gorge walls are carved with ancient bas-relief sculptures dating back centuries, and waterfalls cascade directly into the river at several points. Each raft carries 4–6 passengers with a trained guide at the stern. The trip takes approximately 2.5 hours on the water, followed by a lunch at the finishing point.
