Kuta Art Market
About
This is where souvenir shopping in Bali began. Kuta Art Market is a sprawling two-floor labyrinth of stalls selling every conceivable Bali memento: carved wooden masks, batik keychains, coconut shell jewellery, rattan bags, hand-stitched hammocks, and racks of beach clothes. The prices are the lowest on the island if you're willing to bargain hard. It can feel overwhelming, especially midday when tourist groups descend. The vendors can be persistent. But if you take a breath and enjoy the chaos, there are genuine handmade pieces to find among the mass-produced items.

💡 Insider Tip
The stalls on the upper floor are often run by the artisans themselves and have more unique items. A firm 'tidak' (no) is perfectly acceptable and not rude.
